Rod Building
I'm looking for everything needed to build my own rods. I've never done it but really wanna start. I need all the tools, supplies and the wrapping bench. If anyone has any used stuff that would be great. Or if someone could point me in the direction of somewhere i could find the stuff at a decent price. Thanks.

Check out Cabelas, they have some entry level rod building equipment.

Re: Rod Building
Be patient, someone just might! Another place to check would be www.azflyandie.com a few guys on there build rods, one of them may have something for you at least can point you in the right direction.

Re: Rod Building
Red, I don't build rods, but check out some other FF forums for used equipment, Most of the equipment is pretty standard, it's all about preparation and finishing. Buy the best equip you can afford, BUT buy the cheapest blanks to experiment with until you feel comfortable with the workmanship. Building a rod for yourself is one thing, building one for sell is another.
Whichever direction you decide to go, post some pics as to the progress, that would be cool...

Re: Rod Building
Good advice. Thanks guys. I just looked at flyrodcrafters.com (Bob from Los Pinos). He had everything i need at a pretty good price. Right now i'm only planning on building rods for me and maybe some friends but, I am always looking for a way to make money with something that has to do with my passion for fly fishing. I'm gonna get started pretty soon so I will let u guys know how it goes. Thanks again.

Re: Rod Building
Red, Build one first and then decide if you want to invest in some equipment. I built my own turner for about $20 and I'm still using it 5 years later. I'll help you anyway I can.
