The wife wasn't happy(lol) but I bought both. I've only had a chance to fish with the new combo in the Jemez plus alot of pratice casting at Tingle CR pond. I love the way this thing cast. Charlies gave me a extra spool to match the base. The one it came with was carbon fiber I belive. Can't wait to try the 4wt on the juan. Old rod was a TFO 5wt. Night and day differance between the two. I can feel more of what the fish is doing when on. (more flex)

I have the same exact rod and you're gonna LOVE it! I was disappointed when it replaced the SLT, but it really is a terrific stick. Mine's paired up with a Lamson Lightspeed and Rio Grand line. If I find another smoking deal on an Evolution, it'll go on that rod. In the meantime, I think I've got too many rods and have gotten rid of a couple. Daddy needs a 6 ft 2 wt for the Jemez!
